¡Hola de nuevo! En este momento estoy poco a poco cambiando y aterrizando muchas ideas que tengo en la cabeza, me emociono porque estoy decidida a llevarlas a cabo.Una de las cosas que habrás notado (si no, ahora te lo hago notar), es que mi contenido dentro de la fanpage, ya no es o se refiere sólo a ofrecer mis servicios como diseñadora gráfica, si no que ahora estoy dando un giro, compartiéndote mi día a día y lo que es ser freelancer (por llevar proyectos personales), trabajar en una agencia (desde mi hogar) y tener una marca (ElyyRg) ¿Por qué decidí esto? ¿Por qué inicio esta nota con toda esta explicación? Porque uno de mis mayores sueños en la vida, es verdaderamente ayudar, generar cambios a mi entorno y creo que, para poder hacerlo, tengo que iniciar haciendo los cambios en mi misma, entonces todos estos cambios, quiero ir que tú formes parte y si en este camino algo te ayuda, apoya o inspira, seré la más feliz y contribuiré a generar ese cambio que tanto anhelo.
Ahora bien, siguiendo con el título de la nota, te platico que llevo aproximadamente 6 meses (en este mes cumpliré los 7 meses) como egresada de la universidad. Se podría decir, que soy una bebe en todo esto del ámbito profesional, aún estoy iniciando mis pasos. Actualmente y como sabes, ya tengo un trabajo, una mini empresa y mis propios proyectos personales, pero realmente ¿Fue fácil para mi llegar a este punto? con sinceridad: NO. En algunas ocasiones, en la universidad no siempre nos muestran la realidad del ámbito laboral, pues nos enseñan procedimientos, metodologías, reglas, etc. Pero la realidad es otra, claro que requerimos de todo este conocimiento, pero al final, lo difícil está en aplicar todo de manera práctica.
¿Cómo sucedió para mí el ser recién egresada? Te cuento mi historia:
Sucedió y me guíe en base a un plan de vida que escribí en una materia (era algo de autogestión), en donde una de mis principales metas era elegir un buen lugar para hacer mis prácticas, que me permitiera desarrollar mis habilidades, pero así mismo, poder quedarme ahí a trabajar, hasta finalizar la carrera, con el fin de obtener experiencia laboral (a lo largo de mi carrera tuve distintos trabajos pero que no eran tan afines al diseño gráfico, adicionando ElyyRg, que era lo más cercano). Gustosamente, encontré un lugar (o más bien, el lugar me encontró a mí, una historia muy curiosa que después te la contaré), una grandiosa agencia, en dónde logré aprender mucho pero que al final tristemente tuve que dejar después de finalizar mis prácticas porque en ese momento tenía un crecimiento impresionante con mi marca ElyyRg y tenía proyectos importantes dentro de la carrera.
Esto provoco que “el plan” que tenía, cambiará totalmente de lo que yo imaginé. Por eso, al salir de la carrera, decidí que me aventaría a ser freelancer y que continuaría con mi marca ElyyRg porque tenía planeado desde casi a principios del año viajar, sabía que, al entrar a algún trabajo, este viaje no podría realizarse. Empecé con muchas ganas, muy motivada, le metí un amor y pasión a lo que quería realizar. Paso mayo, llego junio, se veía prometedor lo que deseaba hacer, llego julio, seguía metiéndole a lo que quería, sin embargo, empecé a sufrir escasez de recursos y cuando llego agosto, estaba completamente perdida, confundida, triste, no sabía porque las cosas no funcionaban. De hecho, recuerdo que por ahí tengo una nota, en la que menciono la semana más negra del año, porque en verdad, lo fue, empecé a sentir que no podría, estaba realmente meditando el hecho de olvidar mi dichoso viaje de placer, para irme a alguna empresa, no importaba lo que fuera, pero boom, casualidades, hermosuras y desventuras de la vida:
Me encontraba comiendo una de esas promociones de los jueves en Nutrisa con mi hermana y mi mamá, había dado el cucharazo cuando de repente, suena mi celular, vi que era un número no identificado, lo cual no tiendo a responder, pero no sé porque tuve esa sensación de que debía contestar ¿Cuál fue mi sorpresa? UNA OFERTA LABORAL ¿Cómo era posible si ni siquiera había subido o mandado mi currículo a algún lado? Pues verán, el esfuerzo que le metí a lo largo de la carrera, dio sus frutos, porque una muy querida maestra, me había recomendado a esta persona. Lo curioso fue, que esta persona me pidió mi currículo, pero ¿Qué crees? NO TENÍA UN CURRÍCULO PRESENTABLE. Ese día me dormí a las casi 4 de la mañana armando un currículo chido, pero para mí fortuna, en una materia había realizado mi sitio web, tenía un portafolio presentable, así que arme todo y pues le gusto.
Ya cumpliré en este mes 4 meses desde que inicié a trabajar con esta mi nueva casa iGraphic, no fue fácil pero ahora te comparto mis consejos para saber que rayos si ya mero te gradúas o si ya te graduaste:
con proyecciones iniciando desde el momento en el que te encuentras a 3, 5 y 10 años. Esto permite que aunque las cosas no sucedan como esperamos, busquemos alternativas para alcanzar todas nuestras metas, sin importar lo que suceda.
Si aún estas en la carrera (te falte mucho o te falte poco), recuerda no querer ser el primero en todo, si no buscar a tu manera resaltar del resto (deja tu marca) y ser mejorar día con día.
No des por hecho las tareas y proyectos, ponle ganas a todo, ya que puedes usar mucho de esos proyectos como portafolio (más si estudias en carreras afines de diseño, esto es súper importante, tener un portafolio antes de salir de la carrera).
Recuerda hacer tus prácticas en un lugar que verdaderamente te ayude a crecer profesionalmente y pensar en quedarte ahí para obtener experiencia, o busca un trabajo después de hacer estas prácticas, que de igual forma ya sea sobre lo que estas estudiando.
Y… ¿Qué hacer después de qué te graduaste?
(ya sé, yo no lo tenía listo, pero aprendí que esto es muy importante) anticiparse y estar preparado, te permite estar alerta en cualquier oportunidad que se te presenté.
NOTA: Recuerda hacer un currículo presentable, que refleje tu profesionalismo, esto es tu primera impresión ante tu prospecto laboral.
si llegaste en un punto en el que las cosas no sucedieron como lo esperabas, no te des por vencido, cambia el plan, pero no la meta. Busca alternativas, verifica si ese plan era el correcto, no des todo por sentado.
así es, si yo no hubiese creado contactos, jamás me hubiesen llamado para ofrecerme una oferta de trabajo. Hazte notar de manera positiva, que sepan quién eres y de lo que estas hecho.
puede ser que saliendo de la carrera ya tengas trabajo, pero también, puede ser que no, enfoca tus ganas y tus fuerzas, en encontrar y hacer lo que te gusta. No todos somos iguales, todos tenemos nuestros tiempos, aunque parezca que hoy las cosas no van bien, mañana puede que sí.
No quites el dedo del renglón, muchos dicen que no hay trabajo en este país, pero con sinceridad, lo hay, sólo es cuestión de que tú lo busques, nada llega solo, ni nos cae del cielo, todo debe trabajarse, ser constante hasta alcanzar lo que deseas.
